RESOURCES! RESOURCES! RESOURCES!

Evaluation:

Control Resources- 5
Protect Resources- 3
Secure Transportation- 4

Conclusion:

China has their hand in every resources rich country in the world including America, but the Chinese see American consumers as the natural resources. For their diversified investment I have given the Chinese the highest score in my rating system. Protection of resources rates in the middles for their investment in some of the most insecure nations (I use nations loosely) in the world; specifically Sub-Saharan Africa. Transportation security is all but assumed by their wide breath of investment approach, which now places forces all of the countries which China in invested to take mutual responsibility for their well being, from the standpoint of commerce.

China's Energy Investments

This map is a visual representation of China’s international oil investments.

Evaluation:

1. Control Resources 4
2. Protect Resources 3
3. Secure Transportation 1

Conclusion:

This post show China’s willingness to control resources throughout the world buy investing sporadically around the globe and is a good representation of their desires, but their wiliness to invest around the globe is the reason for the high score. It seems to me that the separation of their investments will make it difficult to protect due to the distance from their sphere of influence, and without a strong naval force to secure these investment it seems their security is at risk. The majority of the reserves lay outside the territorial waters of China, which leads them vulnerable to foreign powers which is why they scored so low on the third assumption.

Blog Description

I have titled this blog An Almost Educated Opinion: China’s Economic Battle Plan because I believe if we look at China’s actions it allows us categorizes and quantify their actions while assuming China has an objective. Furthermore, with the assumption of a battle plan it allows the observer to discount any actions as merely random forcing the observer to define purpose in China’s actions.

I will attempt to discern China’s path through these assumptions as they proceed with their economic battle plan. The assumptions are as follows:

1. Control Resources
2. Protect Resources
3. Secure Transportation

All post will rate each of the following categories from 1 (the lowest) to 5 (the highest) with regard to how well China performs in each of these categories from my perspective as well as a closing thought regarding the post.
